What is a follow-up shear straightening and cutting machine?

The follow-up shear straightening and cutting machine is an advanced metal wire processing equipment. The following is a detailed introduction from aspects such as working principle, structural composition, performance characteristics, and application fields:  


Working Principle  

Straightening Principle:

Through multiple sets of straightening wheels, the metal wire is extruded and corrected. As the wire passes through the straightening wheel set, it is gradually straightened under the action of the wheels to eliminate bending and twisting, achieving the purpose of straightening.  


Follow-up Shear Principle : 

During the straightening process, the wire continues to move without stopping. The cutting mechanism is driven by a servo motor or other driving devices and precisely controlled by the control system to move in a direction parallel to the wire, "chasing" the wire. When the cutting mechanism catches up with the wire and reaches the preset cutting length position, it acts quickly to cut the wire, achieving precise cutting without stopping the machine.

Structural Composition:  

1.Straightening Mechanism: Usually composed of multiple straightening wheels, which are mostly made of high-strength wear-resistant materials such as cemented carbide or special alloy steel. The spacing and angle of the straightening wheels can be adjusted according to the diameter and material of different wires to ensure the best straightening effect.  

2.Follow-up Shear Mechanism: Mainly includes cutting tools, driving devices, and transmission systems. Cutting tools are generally made of high-quality tool steel or alloy steel, and undergo special heat treatment to have good hardness and toughness. Driving devices are mostly servo motors or hydraulic motors, which drive the cutting tools to perform high-speed reciprocating or rotational movements through transmission systems such as gears, chains, and belts to achieve rapid cutting of wires.  

3.Feeding Mechanism: Composed of feeding wheels, pressure wheels, and drive motors. The feeding wheels and pressure wheels work together to drive the wire forward through friction, while the drive motor provides power for feeding. The feeding speed and length can be precisely adjusted through the control system to meet different processing requirements.  

4.Control System: Generally using PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or industrial computers as core control components, which can precisely set parameters such as straightening speed, cutting length, and feeding length. It also has functions such as automatic operation, fault detection and early warning, alarm functions, and production quantity setting, featuring simple operation and high automation.

Performance Characteristics:  

1.High-Efficiency Production: The wire does not need to stop during straightening and cutting, significantly improving production efficiency. Compared with traditional stop-shear straightening and cutting machines, the production speed can be greatly increased to meet the needs of large-scale production.  

2.High Cutting Precision: High-precision cutting length control is achieved through precise control systems and follow-up shear mechanisms. The cutting length error is usually controlled within a small range, generally reaching an accuracy of ±1mm or higher to meet different users' requirements for cutting length precision.  

3.Wide Application Range: Suitable for various metal wires such as steel wires, copper wires, aluminum wires, stainless steel wires, etc., as well as wires of different diameters and materials. It can also process some special-shaped wires with a relatively broad application range.  

4.High Automation Level: It has a high degree of automation, with automatic operation achievable in processes such as straightening, feeding, cutting, and blanking. This reduces manual operations, lowers labor intensity, improves production stability and consistency, and can be linked with other production line equipment to realize automated assembly line operations for the entire production process.  


Application Fields:  

Construction Industry: Used for processing construction steel bars, straightening and cutting coiled steel bars into required lengths for binding and pouring in building structures, such as steel bar processing in high-rise buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other projects.

Hardware Products Industry: It can process metal wires required for various hardware products, such as iron nails, iron wires, steel wire ropes, springs, etc. After straightening and cutting the wires, they can be further processed into various hardware products.
